High cpu temp

hi,

im running i5 2400 with scyhte katana 3, and the temp is getting up to 50c on idle.

my case is fractal design 3000 with 4 fans, so the air flow seems to be fine.

what can be the problem?

I also tried other cpu fan but the temp is just the same.

Possibly a dumb question, but did you use thermal paste? and if so did you apply it correctly? Applying too much thermal paste can be just as bad as adding none at all.
