Thinking to upgrade some

had system going on 2 yrs.slowly been getting few parts,looking for ideas what to upgrade.using it for surfing,light video editing,games mostly(starcraft 2,diablo when out)games like that.

current that seems works ok,and i enjoy is:
i3 530 2.93GHz
6 gb ddr3 1333 (9-9-924)
gateway h57m01 1156 motherboard
Acer P215H (1920x1080)
XFX radeon 6850 1gb Black edition
1 tb 7200 rpm seagate hd
1 tb western digital wdc hd
corsair gs 700w
Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 case

not really thinking of overclocking
probly 300 ish range
next few weeks

You can't change the motherboard without a new windows coa, so that's out. You could add some more ram, but it won't do you much good. I would go with a cheap ssd. Someone on craigslist where I live has a corsair 64 gb sata III for only $70; you may find something like this locally where you live.

ok,thanks.not to worried about windows.was looking around thinking of going motherboard,a i5,and maybe ram or use wht i have for now

Your ram is fine, i'd upgrade your CPU if anything. What version of windows are you running?

have windows 7 x64 home premium.think cupid-z said 1156 socket.seems to be more choices on different socket

socket 1156 is last gen. Current gen is 1155. for 300 you'll want to try to find a good last gen I7, probably one in the I7 860 area, I'm not sure. Check New Egg. If you want current gen you'll need a new MB.

thanks for the help..was looking into going with a MB and cpu.looking at the i5 2400-2500.but also saw the ivy bridge are come out next few months,if it be better to wait tell then
