Upgrade and performance increase

Forum Systems : Homebuilt Upgrade and performance increase

So a quick outline of my current set up is it is an AMD 9950 on a M3N72-D ASUS mobo oc'd 3.05 with 8gb 800mhz ddr2 and am now running SLI GTX 285 with sata II 7200 RPM drives. I am in a position to upgrade 700 worth of internals and am really leaning towards a

2500k,
asus P8Z68-V / GEN3
GSKILL 8gb (2x4gb) ripjaw X series PC3 10666
and a 120gb Vertex 3 SSD for a OS/programs drive (thinking of not using the SRT)
coolermaster 212 evo

So I am wondering will my 285's bottleneck my new system and really, how much of a performance increase in gaming and movie playing will I see? The overclocking would just be meddled with for a bit to learn my system a little better and get some more out of it. Is there better upgrades I could look at with a better bang for my buck? If purchased today, the 5 parts would be $650 after price matches and one rebate.

You are a Smart cookie. So to answer your question, i can confirm no, no bottleneck there!. Whats your case?, if you can fit this in to your case. Instead of a 212+ evo get the Corsair A70. its a much better value cooler

I just measured, and sure enough neither will fit. Think I'll grab the h70 instead. The case is an antec 900 being reused.
