i dont have nf4 firewall installed ( or that is what i think). The windows firewall is off but still i see almost all of my ports block when i check them on http://www.hackerwatch.org/probe/ they tell me that my ports are protected by firewall. now i definately know my xp firewall is off and only other thing that have a firewall is dfi lanparty nf4 ultra-d motherboard. i use to have it's firewall installed but i got rid of it because of stabliliy issues. Somehow i think its still working. How do i completely uninstall it and how do i turn it off permanently. I need help on this desperately as i cant find any source of info.

what internet connection are you using?
Do you have a router? that can show ports being blocked.
You really should have some kind of firewall running with all the worms, viruses and port hacks on the internet.

nForce4 Network cards have a hardware firewall built into them. You need to have that nvidia firewall software installed to be able to manage it/turn it off.

i am using sympatico dsl 3.0mb .

the problem that i have with the nforce firewall software is that it use to make the system crash. Ok if i instal the software and turn the firewall off and then uninstal the software then will the firewall stay off or will it still work like its working now?

Do you have the little shield in the corner of your screen? Does it have a little red X over it?
The X means it is off and when it is off the webconfig will not appear. You have to double click on that icon and enable the firewall (put it on low, med, or something else) to access the webconfig thing. That is how mine works anyway.
