Can I connect my PC to my TV with NVIDIA

Hello,
Can I connect my PC to my TV using a DVI to VGA cable? When I connect them, my PC screen goes blank. How do I configure the TV? Please help. Thanks!

right click your desktop and click screen resolution. Put it down as low as you can, select whether you want duplicated monitors, extended, or just one and not the other. you can then turn the resolution up until the tv screen goes black and leave it at the setting below that.
