hey everyone i've beeen messing around now for a couple days with the audio on an old chaintech mpm800 mobo. i've never used the onboard sound on it at all. when i bought this computer at a yard sale a couple years ago for $1 i gave it to my son. it came with a pci audio card which worked. i ended up needing the card for another system i had. a dell dimension 3000 which i've upgraded drastically. P4 2.8 2gb ddr 400 windows 7 ultimate hd4350 512mb. well the onboard sound went out on that dell so i took the sound card slapped it in the dell, sound works again. tried to get onboard sound working on the mpm800 to no avail. tried everything i can think of. onboard is enabled again i try different drivers some work but i get no sound while other's bsod my system 0x0000007E sysaudio.sys. i've tried everything.the case i have for this system has front audio so i figured hey i'll just hook that up and use the front port. well when i hooked that up rebooted my system my multimedia controller is not there no more. chaintech has shut down i guess and i cant find any manual online or help anywhere and i dont know if theres jumpers on the board i need to set or what. why does the multimedia controller dissapear when i hook the front ports up on the mobo? is the green port just dead basically on the rear ports. thanks for b-s-ing with me about it. i know its not the best system. but its all my son needs.
