Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: not right now but maybe in the future

Additional Comments: I don't really need to have all the cosmetic lights and such just need something that functions well and runs quiet. I will mainly use the computer to edit go pro movies and the occasional video gaming (skyrim ect. ). Graphics for games don't have to be ultra but a nice high setting would be nice. I mainly want to be able to watch my HD video the best i can for the money. I am open to any suggestions as far as building the rest of my computer. Please give me feedback on the parts i have picked and any you would suggest. Thank you in advance.

The 2GB 560 Ti isn't really worth it expensive ubt not that much benefit in real world performance.

But since you don't need the HDD that's a lot saved.

In terms of CPU, you don't need an i7 in my opinion, Go Pro footage is pretty easy to handle with the 2500K, the 2600K has Hyper Threading but in my opinion, the extra cost doesn't justify the performance boost. Unless of course you have the money. IMO, I just think you don't need an i7.

I would recommend getting a 6950 2GB instead of a 560Ti as the 6950 can be unlocked/overclocked to the 6970 levels and are known to outperform the 6970 at times. And i would suggest a Z68 motherboard with PCIe 3 to be more future-proof.

Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H -B3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128495 - $108

MSI R6950 TWIN FROZR III RADEON HD 6950 2GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127575&Tpk=6950%20twin%20frozr%20iii - $300

Also, i would suggest a full ATX tower as it would make things much cooler and crossfire/SLI will be much more easier.

Or i would say wait for the i7-3820 to come out, as the two extra cores will be of advantage in case of video editing. They are going to be priced between i5-2500k and i7-2600k.

Thank you for the info. on the motherboard will def. look into that. How does the 6950 compare to the 560 ti? only reason i ask is i have found the 560ti 2gb at a store for the same price they are selling the 1gb version so i just figured id upgrade to the 2gb. i kind of like the $250 price tag. Is one better than the other for video editing?

Thank you for your feedback! I looked into the asrock z68 that Why_Me suggested and i kinda like it. Anyone else have any thoughts on this motherboard? Seems like a good deal.
My cousin suggested a ASUS Sabertooth P67. Im pretty ignorant when it comes to what makes a good motherboard so ive been stuck on trying to pick one.
Ok new build with some new parts let me know what you guys think.

CPU - I5 2500k

MOBO - ASRock Z68

PSU - XFX PRO Series 750W
http://www.amazon.com/XFX-Semi-Modular-Energy-Certified-P1750BNLG9/dp/B005IUVYA2/ref=sr_1_7?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1328736033&sr=1-7&tag=vglnk-c1001-20

CASE - Coolermaster Haf 912

Or should i take kalpak2021's advice and go with a full atx tower? i am planning on overclocking at some point just not right away and i was toying with the idea of doing a crossfire/ sli in the future.

GPU - GTX 560ti
Im still stuck a little on the video card. I like the reviews of the gtx 560ti, but im open to suggestions :)

Ram- Corsair Vengeance 8 GB
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-240-Pin-Platforms-CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9/dp/B004CRSM4I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=IRZD0Z8CZA845&colid=5A8F1JXSAVGZ

Hows the build looking so far?

Go with the Asrock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68, it's not a better board but cheaper and for the price a solid buy. It also gets Ivy Bridge support and PCI 3.0 if you use an Ivy Bridge chip, definitely more future proof than the Sabertooth. Go with the HAF 912, no need for a full tower.

Go with the Gigabyte 560 Ti, and the OCZ 750w just to save money.

Ok pretty much got my build down just one last question about the video card. If it would be better to spend a little extra on the video card im open for suggestions. I have already allowed extra money for a video card i wont have to upgrade for a while.
