Hi, I am building my first build ever, my only problen right now is what PSU to go with, I don;t know what wattage to get. I know I want an 80+ certified, and modular would be nice, but I have no idea what PSU to get. Currently I am thinking about a nice 550W one, but idk if that is too much.
Here is my build (not including monitor/keyboard/mouse)

• Mobo 114.99 (124.99(10 dollar rebate))

The PSU you plan to is a very good one and a good price. There really is no such thing as too high a wattage. The system will only draw as much as it needs. In fact a higher wattage Psu will save money on the long run.Psu are most efficient running at 20 to 80% of it's rated output. You must love the Corsair 650D case. If not get the Corsair 400R case(a very good case and easy to build in and good cooling) and spend the savings on a better GPU.

I would like to stick to Asus boards because I know they are reliable and a well known company. Would say the ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 work? and as for the GPU what should I get?

In the $200 to $250 price range from Ati HD7850, HD6950 and HD6870 and Nvida GTX570, GTX480 and GTX560ti. Ll much better than GTX550ti. If you want something in the same price range as the 550ti there is the GTX460 a much better card for the money.
