Here is an aftermarket update:

A Vertical Grip/Battery Pack for the D70 has to be an aftermarket
solution, like http://www.harbortronics.com/detail.php?id=2 . Or
maybe even it can have a LCD, like these:
http://www.pconline.com.cn/zt/chin [...] 06052.html

There are 2 grips mentioned over at
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/ [...] angemode=1
that might be of interest.

TBM: I have the D70 and like it. I'm used to the handling of the larger
body of the F5. Nikon doesn't make the "MB-D70". I have never seen one of
these aftermarket grips, but from reading other forums, they appear to be
very popular and in demand. Nobody who has gotten one of the grips has said
anything about "cheap and un-professional" - on the contrary, they seem
satisfied. ~Ray
