You can use this chart to see if it would be and as a rule you want to have two or three levels between the cards for it to be a good upgrade. In this case there are two levels so it would be a good upgrade.

GTX 560 2gb is not as good as the 6950 2gb for the same price..and yes you can find the 6950 for $230ish by the end of the year. An even better suggestion is to not get anything now and stick with the 5770 through Q1 2012.

The 7000 series will give you a longer lasting card for teh same price. I played SWTOR beta on my 6970 and it barely uses half of it. You will be fine with 5770 at 1080P...just lower the details for 4 months until the new 7000 series comes out and then spend money on that.
  5. GTX560 or GTX560TI? In either case don't bother with a 2GB card. A 1GB card will be fine.
  6. thanks for your help guys. I dont upgrade often so I want to make sure I get a good card... So if the 5770 can run SWTTOR I will just wait.. I played the Beta too but wasnt sure if all the effects were on so I didnt know how true of a test for the card it was. Thanks again for the responses.
  7. You talking 560 or 560 Ti / reference or factory OC ? No, on the 560 (no Ti)

If the Ti, Yes.....especially if you buy a factory OC'd model w/ the bigger coolers and OC it up over 1000Mhz. The 2GB is going to do much of anything tho.

At $270, for the EVGA 560 Ti 2Gb and $230 for the Asus Cu TOP 1GB, I'd take the Asus w/o a 2nd thought.

  8. The GTX 560Ti 448 core is a new release from Nvidia and should be an improvement over the regular 560Ti , by waiting for the new releases the prices of these cards should drop and you can get one of these cards for a lower price.
