Display crashing

Hello All,

I recently built a PC, I am now having problems with playing games on it.
When i open a game, it crashes within about a minute of starting up. (the screen freezes or can not show this resolution, and i get a loud buzzing through the headphones/speakers.
When i play 1080p video, it runs perfectly. I am unsure exactly what the problem is.

I am not really sure what to do to solve this issue.

i have tried installed a range of nvidia drivers from 270-295. no difference

I have checked temperatures for the machine and everything there seems alright.

the only thing that kind of stops it crashing is underclocking the graphics card, this will let me play most games however i can still have trouble if it gets too graphicy and i dont really want to do this.

any help would be appreciated,

I've been having a similar problem with the evga geforce gtx560 card. Maybe its something with the 500 series?

I can play some of my games like half life 2, oblivion, starcraft 2. When I try to play other games like portal 2 or the darkness 2, the game crashes during startup.

Does your mb have onboard video? Can you see about running games without the card to isolate if its just the card thats causing the problem?
