More details about computer screen shows 4 cores when it shouls say 8

All other programs and software state 8 including device manager!

My CPU is a FX8120...8 core

Is this normal?

The FX-8120 isn't really an 8 core, you shouldn't really worry about that though. It's just a minor issue in windows, nothing to worry about. Same thing happens to me when i view more details on my i7-2600k.

Thanks,your right because bios and all software including cpuz show all 8 cores,i have it stable at 4.01 ghz,thanks foe all your help!

dont follow the foot steps of others, a 8120/8150 is no more a 8 core then an i7 is an 8 core. they both are not true 8 core cpus. they have enough components to make 4 real cores with 4 none complete cores.

i7 was never intended to be an 8 core was it? :kaola:  but the fx....hehe

everything i have read is that the fx chips have the same concept as hyperthreading in that the fx has shared resources just like hyperthreading.

Coretemp is the most accurate temp sensing program.

HWMonitor is handy too since it gives you high and low temps.
