Hi, I have a Creative Sound Blaster PCI (WDM) onboard soundcard. I am running Windows 2000, and have downloaded and successfully installed the latest drivers (p128w2k.lib). Everything seems to be fine.
The Device Managaer shows no errors, and when I try to use WinAmp to play a MP3 it does so as if everything was OK. But, there is no sound.
I have checked that the volume control is not on mute.
I've also selected the sound card as the preferred device under Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds & Multimedia -> Audio.
Have you checked the cable between the board and your speakers? Whenever this happens to me, it's always because I stuck the plug into the wrong connector on the card (they're color-coded on my card but who can remember?).
