Driver/overheating issue ??? gtx 260m

i have the asus g71-gx and ive already done the bios fix and installed windows 7 64-bit. ive downloaded speed fan and doesnt work either. every time i play a game it will freeze about 2 min in to the game and then resume. after about 5 times that this happens the game just completely shuts off. it happens in several games not just one. i have the latest drivers and still does not work. PLZZZZ HELP :o

It sounds like an overheating issue.

Are you playing with your laptop on a well ventilated surface, having it sit on a bed/couch will cause alot of cooling issues.

Download a programs called HWMonitor, and if possible take notice of what temperatures the laptop is achieving, anything over 75c could be a problem.

i use speed fan to see temps and also its on a laptop cooler in a quite cold room

Do the laptop's fans start spinning during the game, or are they still quiet right up to the crash? If they're quiet then the gpu will overheat, even with a cold room and laptop cooler.

no they speed up for sure. also when the game crashes it gives me a give me a little pop up that says display driver failure and then it gives me the driver name.
