P45 platinum motherboard gets power but will not start

msi mother board p45 platinum gets power red light comes on on the board but will not start. it wants to, when you power it on but just all the leds flash but will not start.

did you try to reseat the ram?

I removed the ram and retried and still get the same problem. I also removd the psu and powered up the unit still same problem. I have the board out of the system on a bench powersupply connected to it but when I reconnect the power supplies lead wire that power the psu its the 8 prong connection to the unit it will olny flash all leds and the poer suppies led and will not do any thing but if I disconnect it from the board it will light up and fans spin and power supply fan spins.
