VGA out put works but not the DVI

Hi My computer hsa a 560 gtx. When i plugged the dvi cable into the socket behind the card it does not output any display on my monitor. However when i use the dvito VGA converter came with my card then it works. I tried the dvi output on the back of my mother board same thing the dvi does not send any signal but my MB has the vga output and it works. I dont understand. My monitor is a samsung sync master 23 inches. it has both dvi and vga out put. Is there any one can help me to get my graphic card to output through dvi or my monitor to receive the signal..
My system spec.: AMD phenom x4, 8gb corsair ram, gigabyte 880x micro atx MB am3+. Graphic card gtx560ti gigabye.

Did you set your monitor input mode to DVI?

Oh i suspect that there must be a way tto do that but i really dont know how....its a syncmaster SA300 by samsung.

Look for a button called source. It should be the 3rd from the right side of the screen

Ok i saw that button. After pressing it i saw it say analog on hte top of the screen...

If you press again does it say digital? it should swap from source to source. Well once a digital source is plugged in it should.

I have only used Samsung screens with multi inputs. so i use that button more then the power button.

I had the same problem and hitting the Source button on my LG monitor did the trick. Thanks!
