Can some one please help I'm going round in circles here trying to decide my new build set up...OK .......I have a bit of knowledge but not enough to make a decision on it all when its expensive.

I do like a nice comp and on my case it’s a bit like owning a Ferrari it’s nice to have the power there but don't mean you have to drive at 150MPH.
I don’t do any gamming at all; I don’t over clock my comp at all unless it has one these programmes that dose it all for you instant boost type thing. I do like a fast very responsive comp.

Basically I do some film and photo editing making DVDs etc. besides that its used for music, Iplayer and is a gloy fied Ebay and porn machine lol (Hay at least I admit it ) The difference in price is £306.91 between the two set ups. So please do take a look and I would be grateful for any sensible advice I can understand with out getting into any complicated computer talk.

I will be using from my old comp for ether set up.......

Windows home premium 64 Bit
2 x Western Digital Caviar Black HDD (SATA 3 not the new 6) 1TB each being used for storage of pics, film, music etc
Cooler Master silent Pro 850 PSU
2 x LG blue ray burner/drives
Iiyama ProLite B2409HDS I will be adding a second one of these monitors
2 x Icy Box caddies (To easy remove storage drives for hiding when go away)

Then the choice is...... Z68 or 2011

Z68 as follows....

Intel Core i7 2600K
Asus P8Z68 Deluxe
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1800Mhz 16Gig of
Graphics card (NVIDIA) EVGA 1280MB GeForce GTX 570 HD
Kingston Hyper x 120 Gig (SATA 6 for operating system and programmes)
Cooler Master Cosmos 1100 s (to be stripped down and inside powder coated black)

CPU cooling unknown yet will also be a card reader/usb 3, SSD/HDD internal docking bay and poss. fan controller

2011 set up.....

Intel i7 3930K
Asus P9X79 Deluxe
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1800Mhz 16 Gig of but may add another 16 Gig
Graphics card (NVIDIA) EVGA 1280MB GeForce GTX 570 HD
Kingston Hyper x 120 Gig (SATA 6 for operating system and programmes)
Cooler Master Cosmos 1100 s (to be stripped down and inside powder coated black)

CPU cooling unknown yet will all so be card reader/ USB 3 bay, HDD/SSD Internal docking bay and poss. fan controller

More about : please mine field comp building

why do you need a 570 if you're not gaming at all .

youll be more than happy with your z68 setup, and it has the benefit of cost effectiveness. The 2600 k will cover your photo and video needs beautifully. THe 2011 is just overkill for your purposes (Imho) as far as air coolers go I still like the coolermaster hyperr 212. Havent dony hydrocool myself.

get the z68 and you could use on-board instead of the 570 since you don't game if you're video editing needs a decent gpu a 6850 will do . that will save you enough money to get more ram and maybe another ssd

I'm geting the 570 as thats what was recomended to me by the local computer guy (builds repairs home/work comps)I All so spoken to anouther guy who dose loads video and photo editing and that's what he all so has a Nvidia 570HD and all so recomended it to me. I have all so been told a card that,s a good gaming card will all so be good for vid and photo editing.........One question when on the phone today (about my Cosmos case) The guy said to go with the 2600K as in about six month 8 core processors will be out and they will be the 1155 socket not the 2011 so I will be able to just swop out my 2600K for a 8 core processor ? Anyone know if this is correct ???

I dont understand why your recomending this set up to me It deff has to be a i7 cpu For hard drives as all ready said I all ready have 2 x Wetern Digital Caviar Blacks 1TB each for storage would never use anything but WD after having TWO yes TWO Seagate Barracudas fail on me on my last build one within a month and the other within 6 month. As for my SSD I look at the Force 3 but tha failer rate was high but the Kingston Hyper x 120 got great reviews with low falier rate. I all ready have a Cooler Master silent pro 850 not even a year old so why ditch it for a 550w. For RAM really for me Corsair is best for RAM and for the blue ray drives all ready have 2 x blue ray burner/drives and lol did notice at the bottom of your post it says will be getting .........and it ant what you say to get lol but thanks any way.

well it depends if youre doing 3d rendering . photo and video editing without 3d rendering wont need a discreate video card.
