You don't need a sound card - they're pretty useless anymore when onboard audio has been really perfected over the last few years. It's all I ever use.

That mainly depends on your max budget and what features you want out of it. The main board I've been using lately is the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P or UD3H:

UD3P: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128506
UD3H: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128498

Alternately if you're not going to be gaming on this machine at all, I'd suggest this setup:

Asus P8B: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131725
Intel Xeon E3-1230: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115083

With this setup though - the P8B does not have a sound card so you will need to acquire one.

Like every PC part there's a tier for RAM manufacturers.

At the top (tier 1) would be G.Skill, Crucial, Corsair Vengeance, Kingston Hyper X, Mushkin, and PNY.

Tier 2 would consist of AMD brand, Corsair XMS, Kingston (standard), ADATA, Patriot, Geil, and Team Elite.

Tier 3 would consist of Wintec, Edge Tech, OCZ, Pareema, and All Components.

Thank You for you advice
This board GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 ($148) better than GA-Z68XP-UD3P ($189)
For CPU I7-2600K $100 higher than I5-2500K the difference is I7 has 8 L3 cache and Hyper-Threading Support. I5 has 6mb L3 cache no Hyper-Threading Support.

Do I need Hyper-Threading Support?

The UD3P will have more USB 2.0 and 3.0 connections, has an onboard 15-pin connector for USB 3.0 case headers, more SATA ports and will natively support higher RAM speeds.

For CPU I7-2600K $100 higher than I5-2500K the difference is I7 has 8 L3 cache and Hyper-Threading Support. I5 has 6mb L3 cache no Hyper-Threading Support.

That depends on what you want to run. If you want to run, say CS5 or any Autodesk application - hyper threading will come in handy. If you want to run, say games, then you go for the 2500K.

This is the cooler I use and it's really excellent: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835288001

It's a bit difficult to install but it performs about the same as a 120mm closed block radiator like an H80 would. It keeps my system cool at 33'C when idle and 41'C when in full use.

Another option is the Hyper 212 Evo which is another excellent fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

Yes I have the same one - but get the Evo which is the newer version of it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
