Asus ROG GTX-580 MATRIX vs MSI GTX-580 Lightning

Hello there,

I have 2 questions:

1) what is the better of those in terms of performance?

MSI GTX-580 Lightning 1,5 GB
Asus ROG GTX-580 MATRIX 1,5 GB

They are both OC'd and deliver better performance then the stock 580 GTX. But which to chose?

2.) They both have 3 GB versions which are considerably more expensive. I want to play games at 2550x1440 with all on options on max. Will the 1,5 GB on the standard be enough or is it worth investing in the 3GB versions?

Thanks a lot!

PS: Another thing is, as the ASUS Matrix is 3 slots high will I be able to SLI it with another one of those on a Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 ? Help is much appreciated.

Nearly decided on the MSI GTX-580 Lightning.

The only problem seems to be that it won't fit in my case.

I have a coolermaster CM 690 II. It says that max GPU length is 304 mm but I read that the Lightning was 305 mm long. Damn.. :ange:
