More about building first
  1. mostly i cant decide which video card to get
  2. dude do NOT get an fx cpu has major compatibility issues get this build

    intel i5 2500k cpu
    asrock z68 mobo
    cooler master haf x case
cooler master hyper 212 evo cpu cooler
    seagate barracuda 1tb hard drive
    sony 24x optical drive
    g.skill ripjaws 8g ram
    amd radeon hd 6870 v-card
    rosewill capstone-550w psu
  3. can u put up prices for the parts? compatibility in what area/ways? I have several friends that used the AMD/mobo combo fine(same for the intel except he had the $1200 i7)
  4. FX 4100 runs slower than A LOT of the Phenoms. Besides, even the i3-2100 beats any AMD CPU out right now, and is cheap.
  5. Some motherboards require you to update the BIOS in order to use the FX processor, which means you would need another spare AMD processor to do so. If you do decide to go with Intel, this thread might be of some interest to you when you pick out what RAM you want:
  6. its the FX8150 not the fx4100
  7. i dont know how to overclock so that is a non issue for now(prob wont ever do it but you never know)
  8. and what about SLI/CFX?
  9. im looking into that but what, besides the mfg, is the difference between the two? Im not too familiar with either yet
