Budget Range: for now im gonna go with $1000, but if i have more when i actually start buyin ill adjust for it

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming(FPS an mmorpg), school work, internet, entertainment/video editing

Parts Not Required: already have a mouse,laptop,monitor, sound system(just doin a tower)

can u put up prices for the parts? compatibility in what area/ways? I have several friends that used the AMD/mobo combo fine(same for the intel except he had the $1200 i7)

FX 4100 runs slower than A LOT of the Phenoms. Besides, even the i3-2100 beats any AMD CPU out right now, and is cheap.

Some motherboards require you to update the BIOS in order to use the FX processor, which means you would need another spare AMD processor to do so. If you do decide to go with Intel, this thread might be of some interest to you when you pick out what RAM you want:

i got the AMD FX 8150 fx 8 core with the sabertooth got a good deal and it matches the i5 as well in performance it appears, i need help building around it though thanks for the help though so far guys
