Hi! I am looking for digital camera which is quite small and easy to take
everywhere.
Could you tell me which one of those two will be better? I mean which of them
takes better pictures and has stornger flash. Amount of pixel is not as
important but the price counts. I don't want to spend much money. Maybe you can
recommend another camera?

Regards,
DJKapi

I'm not familiar with the Optio S5n but I have the S4i and I love it. It's 4
megapixels which is plenty for my purposes. I don't think the S5n has an
optical viewfinder though, does it? From the photos I find it looks like
they've eliminated the optical VF in order to put in a big 2" LCD monitor. I
use the LCD nearly all the time, but under some conditions of direct
sunlight it's practically impossible to see (it's antireflection coated but
*still* almost unusable in some circumstances), which is why I'd always want
an optical viewfinder too.

For this reason I'd recommend instead the S4i (if still available) or S5i.
They are likely to be cheaper than the S5n also.

Don't know about the Nikon you mention either. I have the Nikon Coolpix 4100
and I love that too; it's very compact and pocketable, though not nearly as
compact as the Optio S4i. As far as image quality goes, both cameras are
fine and frankly I wouldn't rate either one over the other.

When it comes to wanting a strong flash, there I think you're out of luck if
you hope to find that in an ultracompact camera. I have had no problem with
either camera for flash shots, but I don't expect much range from any
ultracompact camera's flash and I limit my use of them accordingly.

Thank you for your response! I would like to buy coamera with a VF bu

least in Poland;)
I cant understand why!

You're very welcome. That surprises me too, but then I don't know about the
S5n and had never even heard of it before you mentioned it. I assumed it
would be more expensive because it seems to be a newer model, and of course
that large LCD monitor.

You might want to check out Steve's Digicams at www.steves-digicams.com for
information on any other models you're interested in. His site has very
thorough reviews on most popular models.

Hope you find a good camera that suits you well.

Digital cameras without viewfinders are hard to use quickly or in low
light. I find the LCD more difficult to aim quickly and it's also
harder to keep the camera steady when it's out in front of you. My
real bitch with these cameras is that the viewfinder isn't remotely
the same as what you get in the image.

The S5i can be had for about $250 andI've had my eye on one lately. It
looks like the best value in a pocket sized P&S. What more does the
S5n offer?
