HI
I recently started working on getting the components for my first gaming PC. THis is the first PC i have actually bought the components for and to be honest am VERY lost. I have made a list of the components that should be best for my rice range, (£500-£600) and here it is.
If you can could you tell me were I am going wrong and what might be better. Im making the PC to play games such as mass effect 3 and guild wars 2 on good graphics. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Intel Core i5 2500K - 3.3 GHz £170

MOTHERBOARD
MOBO ASRock Z68 PRO3 Skt-1155 £89

RAM

Graphics card
EVGA GTX 560 1gb PCI Express GDDR5 DVI HDMI Graphics Card £145

Hard drive
Seagate 1 TB,External,7200 RPM £46

COOLER MASTER Elite Power 460W PC Power Supply £42

SOUND
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channel Surround Sound Card £24

don't buy that coolermaster power supply.

The cpu is good but you should get a fan if you want to OC, if you don't want to OC you should get the i5 2400 for cheaper. You really don't need to OC for games today or in the near future.

Have you compared prices of the different gpu? with the money you save getting a cheaper cpu, you might be able to buy the 560 ti or the 6950 for better performance in games. GPUs matter more in gaming than CPUs.

If I don't buy that power supply what one would be best? Is the Corsair Builder Series 600CX 600W PC Power Supply PSU good?

I can get the i5 2400 for £147 so that may be a good idea. As this is the first time making a gaming PC I'm apprehensive to OC just in case I fry something XD

With saved money I can get the Zotac GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB NVIDIA for £155

Thanks for the help

Sorry forgot to include that, how about the Sony Optiarc AD-5280S Serial-ATA 24x DVD+/-RW for £14 ?

Thanks

yes the corsair builder one should be better. the 560 ti is worth it over the 560 imo. You can also save money by getting a h61 motherboard since you don't need to OC.
