A few days ago, i bought a 40'' Samsung 40D5003 102 LED TV to use as a monitor. (Full HD)

The problem is, when i plug my HP notebook with an Ati Radeon 5650 Mobility via HDMI, and set the resolution to 1920 x 1080, the colors look like 16-bit, washed out & wrong colored. I mean totally not-usable.

However on 1680 x 1050, it's just fine.

I had a HD Ready LCD TV before this one, and it was capable of 1366x768 resolution. Windows was recommending me to use it on 1280x768, which was fine. But with this new one it recommends me to use it on 1920x1080p.

Is the LED TV not capable of acting like a monitor or is it my GPU? The drivers are 8.771.1

I have the same thing using a Samsung 40" LCD monitor in combination with a Radeon HD6850 card. It worked perfectly as a PC monitor untill my previous NVidia based card died. I have not found the solution yet, but based on my own situation I don't think the TV is to blame. I hope AMD will introduce a driver update to sort out this problem.
