No sound from onboard hdmi output

Hi

I got this mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H

And I got the computer with the MSI gtx 280 already installed, but I'm waiting for my DVI to HDMI adapter since my tv does not have any DVI connection.

The problem here is that whenever I plug my HDMI I get 720p res but no sound at all since it says my HDMI its not plugged in.

Its something like this:

ATI HDMI Audio
Not Plugged in

I just have the Realtek Digital Output enable and working with my external speaker but I want to use the tv ones.

I already updated Realtek drivers and ati (cataclyst) and still nothing. As I said before if I plug my headphones or my external speakers its working.

I also tried with 2 different hdmi cables and 2 different hdmi inputs on the same tv

I've heard its something related to the BIOS but HDMI sound is enabled

Dont know what could've gone wrong.
Any advice would be greatly appreciate it

Go into Control Panel/Sound. What is your default output device?

You have the sound plugged into the GTX280 as well right?

Edit: the sound might come through the PCIe slot. I think you might need a cable going from the board to the card. Not sure.

I think you do and i believe its called SPDIF but I just cant figure out how to plug that in, I have 2 jacks and 5 pins

This is your on-board audio and will output via the standard jacks on your motherboard. Try selecting the ATI HDMI as the output device.
