Computer bottleneck?

Hello, i'm thinking of upgrading my computer from a GTS 250 to a GTX 550ti. However, I was wondering if this would cause my computer to bottleneck since my CPU is a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000 which is a fairly old CPU model. Thanks in advance.

You will NOT be able to see noticeable performance gain. I don’t recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least three tiers higher in Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart. Read http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-performance-radeon-geforce,2997-7.html
Your processor is also potential bottleneck in most of the new games.

yes, the video card will be bottlenecked by your cpu.... BUT You will see higher graphic performance nevertheless.
