8600 gt not working on new system

i have 8600 gt that stops showing video on my old pc but works in my cousins pc.so i desided to build new system and built i3-2100 system but 8600gt not working in it. my monitor supports resolution of 1280X1024 but now when i chang resolution to 1280X1024 monitor shows notification to plug the vga cable? monitor is 7 years old.

Being such an old screen, its possible that it can't cope with whatever refresh rate the card is pumping out.
Try ensuring that you're using 60Hz and not anything higher. In the advanced bit of the display control panel you should see the necessary controls for refresh rate.

i3 have integrated VGA and cannot work in same time with discrete card. You must disable internal VGA. In some motherboards you must change RAM slots for enabled and disabled VGA mode
