My first budget gaming PC; Intel or AMD

Forum Systems : New Build My first budget gaming PC; Intel or AMD

For my first budget gaming PC, I have two options as below.

1. H61M-S2V-B3 + Intel i3-2100

2. GA-M68MT-D3P + AMD AthronIIx3

With AMD CPU, I can save about $60, but I am concerned about if the cheaper price does mean its poor ability.

This is my first time to build a computer, so any advice will be appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

Tony

It would be best if you stick to one post at a time.

But to answer your question, Intel. Only because the i3 has the 1155 socket and when Ivy-Bridge comes out you can upgrade.

Sorry. It's a double post!

When I posted the previous entry, it said "the website is temporally unavailable. Try it again later" for some reason.

Thanks for your help!

The 2100 will be leaps and bounds above the Athlon, Even the low end Pentium and Celerons can game better. Sad to say, if you are building a gaming computer these days Intel is the only logical way to go.
