MSI GTX 570 Fuzzy/Wavy lines during game play

Hello,

First time poster, long time reader here! I wanted to present my issue to the community in hopes of solving the issue.

Background - I just built my first full rig a few weeks ago and finally installed a MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozor III after requesting a replacement 2 weeks ago. I get everything set up with old drivers removed and new drivers installed. At first everything seems fine, then when I begin gaming I get fuzzy/wavy lines across the screen.

I have tested this on multiple games and it is the same result. After several minutes out of a game the lines go away. It seems to happen when the cards are put to heavy work. I have been using my old MSI gtx 460 and have no issues with this card. Later today I do plan to test the 570 card in my old rig to check if it is an issue with the card.

I have tested the card with old drivers, current drivers, and beta drivers with the same effect. I have also tried different ports on my modular power supply as well and moved the card to different slots on the mobo - same effect.

I suspect it does have something to do with power, but I can't be sure. Any searches on the Internet or these forums have not helped.

Sorry for the lengthy post, I just wanted to be thorough. I appreciate any input. Thanks in advance!

Your power should be fine in my opinion, i've got nearly the same setup as you only with the 480 card, so your 570 might have been damaged before you got it.

Not sure, just a thought.

I was thinking it could be damaged too, which is why I will test it out later today in my old rig. When I received my first MSI GTX 570, I had constant wavy/fuzzy lines, so I sent that back for a replacement. Now this is the second card and my wavy/fuzzy lines happen only while gaming.

I was hoping is was some oversight by my part, but I will send it back again for a replacement card if need be.

Okay, tell me how the test went later today then! :)

Sorry it took me a bit to get back on here, but I did test the card on another machine and I was getting the wavy/fuzzy lines. So I returned it for an exchange and I just installed the new card. Of course I am getting the same effect. I am not so sure it is the card anymore, unless they happened to send me the same exact card 3 times in a row.
