Hello, Ihave a Toshiba Satellite running Win7 Ultimate. Recently my device manager has been having problems. Any device I connect through the usb shows up under the category of other devices and is either missing the driver or shows connected but will not work. I have tried 2 different flash drives 2 mice and all the same result.

If the above suggestion does not work then your USB ports may be faulty, have you tried them all without any intermediate hub?

Yes I have tried each and I have tried to uninstall the usb entries and reboot. Would reinstalling the OS make a difference?

It may do, certainly you should do this before condemning the USB ports. If you have a PCMCIA interface you can fit a card to add USB ports.
