Hey guys, Just wondering something, i am planning on upgrading my mobo, cpu, ram, but i was wondering if i need to do a fresh install of win7 when i swap mobo's, i do not know if the drivers will make it act up or not.
It shouldn't be an issue. Windows might complain and have you re-activate your copy, but that's easy enough. It won't hurt to install the chipset drivers for the new motherboard though.
Do you need to do a fresh install of windows? No. However it is in your best interests to do a fresh install after the upgrade of a motherboard. Reinstalling will save you from potential problems in the future. Reactivating windows after the reinstall should be no big deal. Worst case scenario you have call Microsoft’s automated number and get an activation code.
