I built my own 'economic' PC and I decided to purchase an aftermarket cooler as the stock cooler is just loud and annoying. I plugged it in and I got a CPU fan error?
CPU: Athlon II X3 455 (with stock cooler)
Mobo: ASUS M5A78L-M LX (BIOS V. 801)
When I installed the Freezer 7 PRO Rev. 2 cooler, the fan was spinning (very slowly) and once it got to the post/bios it started shouting at me that there is a CPU FAN Error.
I plugged it in and out and same result, plugged the stock back in and all went back to normal. (I'm going to try to the Freezer FAN on my old PC and see if I get the same thing). I'm not very sure but I think I did go into the BIOS and changed the minimum speed up to 600rpm, but same result? I don't know, I was panicking!
I think they’re both 4 Pin fans? Not sure how you can tell sorry. (There is only one CPU fan header on that cheap Mobo and it is 4 pins).
Any ideas oh great people? Please ask for any other further information guys!
I've been looking about but I cannot seem to find something but I guess I can ask here? (How are bottlenecks found, like the CPU and Video card? Is just looking at specs and software tests things?)
*On Friday I will be able to try out any ideas - I'm away.
