I5-3450 VS FX-8150

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

Name: Score: Price:
AMD FX-8150 Eight-Core 8,264 $199.99*
Intel Core i5-3450 @ 3.10GHz 7,167 $199.99*
Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz 7,674 $239.99*

Many experts say AMD FX-8150 simply isn't the best when it comes to gaming. Though it seems according this non-biased benchmark that the FX 8150 doesn't outperform only the I5-3450 but also the 3570K.

According to you which one between the FX 8150 and the I5 3450 is better for gaming and why?

Then also, if someone is on budget is the FX 8150 a good 2nd choice or would even an older I5 2400 or 2500K still be better?

  1. Best answer
for maximum overclocking stick with 2500k, for ultimate performance + medium overclocking 3570k. Kick out the FX.

  3. For best price use the FX-8150.
It will beat the i5-3450 in most games and is highly overclockable and unlockable.
The 2500k is best value but it is now hard to find.

The fx-8150 has 4 FP cores at higher performance than regular intels
    and 8 integer cores.

Multithreaded games and havok with the right patch will take advantage.
