Hi
I am planning to get 2 AMD radeon 6950 reference cards to replace the cards i have right now (2 x 5850 one is a reference card the other is not and is slightly longer by about 3/4 of an inch)

Is the 6950 significantly bigger than the 5850 (i currently have virtually no room for a bigger card due to a pump being right behind the bottom card)
If so then how much bigger (i need to know so that I am able find out if the cards will fit without having to move all my water cooling parts)

6950s are ~ 10" to 11.5". Check physical dimensions under details on newegg.

A 5850 is around 9.5".
Just make sure to get out your ruler and check before buying.

Also, i'm assuming you're not water cooling the 6950s right? Cause a water cooled one might be shorter due to no overhang (and way more expensive).

I am not planning on watercooling the 6950 initially but i may do do in the future after I have gotten a few new radiators (i only have a xspc 240mm, the cheep one)

my 5850 ( asus ) is a hair over 9 1/2 inches. my 6950 ( xfx ) is a hair over 10". tbh I'd try one 6950 2gig card before buying 2 to crossfire. you may not see tons in extra frame rates but the extra frame buffer and updated architecture may help with some of the short comings of the 5850.

Thanks for that, i have just measured my cards and found that the HIS one (the one on the bottom next to the pump) is about 10 inches, so i might be able to squeeze a very slightly larger card in there. Thanks.
