It's called the intel price cuts. They just didnt update their prices yesterday (probably because of the weekend)--so they did it today. The only "wierd" thing that happened was last friday the E6x20 was on sale for a few hours and then taken dow. That was last friday, not today.

The thought did cross my mind that it was an attempt at humor. But it was either too subtle or just not funny (take your pick) that it was not the first thing I thought when I read it.

$125!!!

What a rip off!

Mwave has it for $117.

Actually, Newegg includes shipping, Mwave doesn't. After shipping Newegg is the cheapest.

[/sigh]

ya'll do get that its a joke, right?

Apparently not. :?

I saw the price this morning at nearly $170... HAHA, buncha egg crap.

I got it for $135... so I wasted $10, it happens.

Not sure when You paid $135 for it, but if you haven't received it yet you can call Newegg and they will refund the difference. Their policy is if an item is still in transit for shipping they will refund any price drops from when you've purchased it. I've done this before with no problems.

No, not the $125 part, the "what a rip off" part, for a whopping $8 minus shipping

I thought e4300 was going to be $113?

$113 was supposed to be the "tray" price (which I am assuming is supposed to be the same as OEM to us). Which means if Newegg was paying $113/e4300 they would charge us, well, more than $113. I am wondering if intel dropped their prices more than that in response to AMD seeing how fast and low the prices have dropped. They didn't do that when the e4300 was released the first time but this time there is increased price pressure from AMD as well as the e4400 and e6320.

I bought an "OEM" e4300 for ~$130 w/ mobo last week at Fry's but apparently their definition of OEM is "used"... not very happy about that. I screwed up my receipts and could only return one of them though :/
