BenQ FP557S 15" TFT Monitor @ £220 overclockers.co.uk
the 557 seems the cheaper version of the 567, the contrast is lower and there are no speakers. the speakers does not bother me but is the contrast such a big difference? 400:1 vs 500:1. the brightness is aslo a little down at 250 vs 260

i have the fp767. i have tried before to find a review, could not. if you find anything please send a link to me (rochacarlos@sbcglobal.net), thanks.
the benQ lcd screen technology is used by dell and others (i've been told).
from what i know the 16ms is the faster response time there is (for now).
what made me choose this lcd monitor, was its specs. they're the best there is. and price.

it is a 17" viewable are of 17" (huge), a 17" crt has a viewable area of 16" (some have less).
99% of the time i am on the internet. most lcds have 20-25-30 ms or more response time (the less the better)
this lcd screen is used by many others lcds manufactures, like dell, etc. (i learn this from people in other forum www.hardforum.com)
i have played quake3, no 'ghosts' at all. this monitor is hot. only (yet) not known by most people i think.
the outside appearence i think is not very attractive, but you get used to it! : c )

I've had the FP567s for a few days now. I preferred it to the Samtron 51s because of the faster response time which I need mainly for video streaming and divx , not being much of a gamer.

This monitor is set up to work well at 1024x768 @ 75Hz instead of the usual 60Hz which allows higher fps in games giving the impression of being faster.

It has the usual drawbacks of cheap LCDs; crap speakers, factory setup to look good in shops (strip lighting)and cheap appearance.

Having said that it is fast and in this low price range one of the best.
