Epson 7600 Questions

I'm currently using Epson ink in my Epson 7600 but am considering
switching to Lyson inks as their bottled inks will save about 60% of
costs.

Two Questions:

Firstly, I intend to refill Epson carts with Lyson ink and reset the
cartridge chip using the 7600 maintenance menu. Are there any problems
with this method?

Secondly, Lyson supply profiles for their inks which would imply that
they differ from the Eson inks. Does anyone know how significant the
differences are and is it possible to use Lyson alongside Epson ink
during the changeover?
