Currently, my sister is in need of a new computer. She only works part time so money is kind of an issue.

She looking for a pc that pretty much can play movies that uses weird codec files and doesn't slow down when multiple windows are up.

If someone can compile a list of parts for me i would really appreciate it as my sister has been nagging at me for 3 weeks!

Approximate Purchase Date: 1-2 weeks~ can wait for deals...

Budget Range: $350~

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Watching Movies, being able to play a variety of codec files, multiple instances open at once and Photoshop/paint sal usage.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse and monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: ncix.com or a site that's within Canada shipping. Maybe neweggs (Avoid customs charges) (I was searching around neweggs 2 weeks ago and there was a page with combo deals for computer and had all the necessary parts for a functional computer but i can't seem to find it again)

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: Something that takes full benefit of a 1980X1080 monitor led hd hdmi

Overclocking: no? (no clue what this is)

SLI or Crossfire: no? (no clue what this is)

Monitor Resolution:1920x1080

Additional Comments: Quiet as possible, Small as possible.(her room is very very tiny), Boots up fast, Something that doesn't attract dust..(i know it sound stupid but our home is a dust magnet and we have destroyed many graphic cards for not cleaning computers properly)

Have windows 7 32 and 64 for use from my college.

You can build a basic system that will do what she wants in that price range, but with integrated graphics. Not an issue as long as gaming performance isn't a big deal (a video card can always be added later). All of these are from newegg.ca

Start with something like this:

she has consider a laptop but the problem is she tends to leave the computer on for long hours and the laptop will stay on and naturally collect a lot of dust. (which has currently happen in the past and currently she using my near-broken one which is being held down by tape.. lol)

she says she doesn't want a notebook. as its not powerful enough for her. and she wants a custom one as she interested in assembling it herself.

Well im willing to help her afford her computer by maybe 150 at most but I really want her to learn to manage money. (I'll probably lie to her if i do help her afford her computer.)

How much do you think think a computer like this would cost?(i might ask her to increase her budget or save up in the long run or something)

*thank you for the link

nOh and about the ram slots. was wondering if making it 8Gig would increase any performance (or is more ram just generally only gaming related?)

for your purpose 4gb of ram is enough 8gb of ram is really never neccasary per say unless ur doing video editing very heavy gaming or extreme multi tasking those are the only time 8gb of ram is neccasary but 4gb of ram is totally fine for this build
