Does having two monitors decrease FPS?

I have an XFX Radeon HD 6870 and am thinking about getting two of these monitors: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6297349&CatId=1410
I am wondering will having two of these show an FPS drop? If so how much? Also these run at 1600 x 900, and my current monitor is 720p so will the resolution show a drop also? If so how many? Also I plant to be playing BF3 with this setup and currently I run at 50 - 100 FPS, so all together how many FPS would I be losing?

Assuming you are going to be playing it on only one screen at a time(duel screens for FPS games dont work well) and just have various other things on the second screen maybe a 3-5 FPS drop, nothing too significant. As for the resolution increase thats going to be a bit more significant. Those new monitors have 56% more pixels than your current one has so that will be a fairly significant drop assuming you are currently GPU limited, but a 6870 at that resolution likely wont be your limit so you may not get a significant drop at all. The toms review of BF3 shows a 6870 pulling 58 FPS on average at 1680x1050 on high settings so you should still get good graphics performance.

tbh this is not a good gauge of a benchmark. the scene they use is a pre rendered play back.

OP you might get 60 fps but dont be surprised if its less then that.
