How to dial into a device via broadband

I have a ventilation controller that connects using a phone line. I have do not have a second phone line to dial out with my computer. is there a way i could set up dialing via broadband?

what type of internet connection do you have?

why can you not use the phone line you have now?

You might be able to use a voip service to connect this device to and use the broadband to be the 'phone line.' I honestly don't know how well that would work, if at all, and would be an expensive experiment. I'd look for an upgrade to a device that can utilize a network connection if that's available and affordable.
