So I have an MSI twin frozor ii gtx 560 ti on a pcie 1.0x16 slot on my motherboard and I was wondering how much performance increase I would be seeing if I upgraded the slot to a pcie 2.0x16.

Also a quick question about overclocking this card... I have heard overclocking reduces lifetimes of cards... why is this? overheating? or just does it in general. Also what would be the symptoms of not enough voltage or too high a voltage for the current clock speeds.

Thanks

Hey I have GTX 560 Ti as well, but on PCIe 2.0x16 slot. What kind of performance are you getting? Any benchmarks? I might tell you how much difference there is.

Overclocking generally increases temperatures, and excessive temperatures lower the lifetime of the card. However, if you have decent cooling (MSI twin frozr II for example, it's one of the best GPU coolers), you should worry about it too much. Of course, watching over temps when overclocking is a must.

My full load temps are around 55-60 so i dont think temp would be a problem

I get a score of about 1033 on ungine heaven benchmark 2.5. With the default settings it gave me so... um
Shaders high
tasselation normal
anistrophy 4

Hey an update:

FPS:
42.7
Scores:
1074
Min FPS:
24.6
Max FPS:
98.8

That's what I got on Unigine Heaven benchmark. Take note, my graphics card is overclocked to 950 MHz, and I have i5 2500k processor. So I guess it wouldn't be any noticeable improvement at all!
