Computer will not turn on but fans are running

Hello,
My desktop shut down. I cleaned the heat sink, placed new past on top of the chip. Twice I put the computer back together and twice it booted up and ran fine. Twice on the following day when I tried to turn the computer on the fan ran but the screen says no data and the system won't boot up. While I cleaned the chip and heat sink I did it with the canned air which was cold. It has been a great computer and I would like it back. Roy

Try disconnecting your hardrive first. Then reset the bios by removing the round motherboard battery for one minute with the power supply unplugged. I would not touch any components unless you're grounded or use an esd strap. I would guess either the hardrive is going out or the power supply.

check your sata cables & hdd in other system(your friend's or in your office etc.,)
