Is it true that the card MUST have at least one monitor plugged into a displayport output? I have my monitor plugged into a hdmi output and have a blank screen and the on board video don't work any longer si I can't see what's going on.

I believe you should be able to use any connector on that card. I don't think you need to use a displayport output.

No you can use any connection, better off using DVI though. Most monitors require you to press the input button ie input 1,2,3 etc or hdmi 1 hdmi 2 dvi, vga. So if you get a blank screen change your input button on your monitor until you get a signal
Ah I've got a problem then cos I've connected using hdmi and cycled though the input options on the monitor and blank screen on them all. What next?
