Could some please tell me if there's any benefit to buying RAM that's faster than 1333MHZ for the i5-2500K? The specs on the Intel site specify 1066/1333MHZ as the max speed the i5's memory controller can use. Or am I missing something?
I picked up some crucial Ballistix (without tall heatsinks) for £40 / 8GB 1600 8-8-8-24.
I know that the Z77 boards do not have a lot of room between the socket and the ram, i've got about 1mm of clearance bottom of HSF to top of RAM, I would not be able to occupy 4 slots without low profile ram.
There's some Samsung ram floating about that i'm hearing amazing things about, low voltage, smaller process & cheap, overclockable, no Heat sink.
