Would 1.5.5V be safe if my cpu temps never exceeded 63c at Max possible load?

Is there a chance it would fry by cpu or mobo if i kept it at that voltage?

recently iv'e OCed my Phenom x4 980 to 4.4Ghz but it's only stable at 1.5.5V :ouch:

Solution

Higher voltages will increase currents through traces and gates inside the CPU which will accelerate electromigration by some amount. Keeping the CPU cool will slow the process down but cannot completely prevent it.

Since electromigration is usually a very slow process and Ivy Bridge has been on the market for little more than a month, there currently is little to no public data and anecdotal evidence about how susceptible to electromigration IB might be.

Thats why I have you ;)

usually 50c-55c using a hyper 212 evo (the extra voltage adds onto the heat)
