System Upgrade Help

First off, hello, how are you, I am well...now on to business!

I have constructed my computer a bit over a year ago in Nov 2010 and I am now looking to upgrade my current graphics card to the HD 7970, specifically looking at...

I have notice that this particular card uses PCIe 3.0, my motherboard only supports PCIe 2.0, so obviously I should upgrade, looking into this I also realized the new card is a bit larger than my current card, which fits nice and snug in my current case so I might have to upgrade that as well...

tl;dr - basically does anyone have any suggenstions on any upgrades I should go for, even those I might not need now but could use in the future

the 7970 will still work just at a 2.0,the only way to get 3.0 pci-e is to have a board that supports it and an ivy bridge cpu that are not out yet
