Ati driver question

do i have to use driver sweeper then reinstall the new ati drivers (laptop 5870 radion) before installing the new ones??

a buddy of mine has nvidia and when he goes into his drivers it replaces his automatically.

No you can just up grade. If there is any problems, it is good practice to use driver sweeper to uninstall.
