Computer Upgrade

Biostar MCP6P M2+ mobo
AMD Athlon II tri-core CPU
Cooler Master 320W power supply
Patriot DDR2 800Mhz 2x4GB RAM
Nvidia 560Ti GPU

I have an AMD Phenom II X4 960T processor that I bought and thought would work with the mobo, but it didn't. So I'm looking to either upgradethe motherboard, or return the processor and get a completely new mobo and CPU. I'm looking for a decent upgrade while keeping it under $300. I need some advice!

  1. I just realized I can't return the processor, so can you guys suggest me a motherboard and all accompanying upgrades. Thanks for the help.
  2. Here's what I'm looking at getting right now. Total is $270.

    MSI 990XA-GD55 AM3+ mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130620
    Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345
Cooler Master extreme power plus 500w power supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031
    Cooler Master HAF 912

Pretty much a brand new build. Thoughts anyone?
  3. I don't see why that build won't satisfy you're needs. Seems like good choices to me, and you'll probably see big improvements in games.
