Critique my first build!

Case - Cooler Master Haf 912 or SGC-1000
PSU - Corsair TX650M
CPU - i5 2500k
Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 912
GPU - Nvidia GTX 560 Ti (is it OK to use cheaper solutions such as Galaxy? Could someone recommend a reasonably priced and reliable brand? for a bit of OC)
Memory - 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws (may consider another brand or model)
Motherboard - ASRock Z68 Extreme 3 Generation 3

This is my very first 'build' which I hope to attempt to assemble myself (with the help of some of the great guides on TH). Planning to make the purchase within days.

I'm looking to OC my CPU and GPU but not to extreme lengths, looking at 4.0-4.5ghz for the CPU and 900mhz for the GPU or so.

Please critique my build and advise whether I need anything else apart from I/O devices such as extra fans, etc. to run this rig properly without any heat issues.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Your build looks good. If you're going to overclock your GPU, I'd recommend getting one of the pre-OC'd versions to begin with as they'll have the extra cooling headroom that the stock card doesn't.
  2. what's your max budget???
  3. @sosofm

    Thanks will look into that

Thanks, so I should be looking for a pre-OC'd version? is it worth getting the new 488 GTX 560 Ti's or is the older version just as good?

    I'm looking at a ~900-1000 budget.
  4. If now ill have your budget that is the build what ill do for me.
