Help with new CPU & Motherboard compatibility.

Hello, I have a ECS Elite Group H61H2-M2 motherboard

"High performance ECS Motherboard H61H2-M2 supporting latest socket LGA 1155 Intel® 2nd Generation Core™ i7 / i5 / i3 Processors"

They have a CPU supported list which includes 3rd Gen CPU's Will these work in a 2nd gen?

I was thinking about buying Intel 3rd Generation Core i7-3770K CPU (4 x 3.50GHz, Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 8Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)

Any help will be great thanks.

yes--as long as the bios supports them

The BIOS I have at the moment is, American Megatrends Inc. Version 07/12/2011 (Latest)

as far as i know, Sandy Bridge boards support Ivy Bridge processors. furthermore, the i7-3770K is listed in the cpu support list of your board. guess you'll need to flash bios though.

Updated BIOS to support Ivy Cpu's, I'll order that straight away! cheers guys.
