FYI...this thread won't last. Mods are gonna pull this so here is
some info for you.

if you don't know how to use a soldering iron properly, have someone
else do the installation of the chip for you. Otherwise you will fry
your motherboard and have a useless xbox. Look someone up on
craigslist and they can even install all of the necessary software
(evolution) in order to actually run the new chip and interface.

I use the xecuter chip.

like the other poster said, there is a lot you can do with a modded
xbox. you can download games directly onto your harddrive (after
replacing the original harddrive with a bigger one ). Hence you no
longer need to buy games...you can just rent them and burn them onto
your HD. Once installed on your HD you can transfer them to your PC
to both save room on your xbox HD and subsequently burn those games
onto a DVD. you can also transfer the games back to your HD or just
play the burned DVD's. you will also be able to play bootleg games
(those burned onto a DVD).

you can install emulators, transfer pics onto your HD (which your TV
can then become a giant photo frame), can download movies onto your
xbox and watch them through your xbox, etc. You can play DVD's on it
also.

the biggest downfall is you can't play xbox live anymore. You can buy
a switch which allows you to turn off you mod chip and then go on
live, but microsoft has installed new security systems for live which
detects if your xbox has been modded...and they will subsequently ban
not only your xbox, but also your IP address.

You would think some that uses Agent knows the difference between Usenet
and Web Forums. Something tells me its a cut and paste job from a forum
though.
